It's nearly that time again. We will soon be bombarded with roses and love hearts, yep it's Valentines Day.

Now some of you may be thinking that you don't sell the types of items that would be traditionally associated with Valentines Day so therefore there is nothing you can be doing to get yourself a piece of the action. Let me tell you something - just about anything could make a great gift, but you need to sell that idea to your customers.

As a whole buyers are not overly imaginative when it comes to gift buying so it is up to you to think of a great reason why your items would make not just a great gift - but the PERFECT gift. Think of for example Power tools, not very romantic, but what if the man in your life is mad on DIY, surely that would appreciate a new drill better than another teddy bear holding a love heart. Sell the fact that by showing their other halves that they notice their interests and hobby's will shows them that they really care.

Once you have your angle, you need to sort out your postage dates and options. By letting your customers know that you offer express postage and that you can accept orders up until close of business on the 11th, you will show your customers that you have thought it through and that you can deliver that last minute gift.

Try offering free gift wrapping and a card with each purchase, to capitalize on those busy buyers.

Utilize eBay's subtitle feature to let your buyers know that you offer flexible postage and gift wrapping so that your items stand out from the crowd. You can even try using a great big heart as a gallery picture to REALLY stand out AND sell the gift angle.

What ever you decide to do, make sure your listing stands out and make sure you drive home why customers should choose your items for their loved one.
