eBay's free FAQ service could be just what you need
If you are getting bogged down answering the same old eBay questions over and over again, then I bet you haven't heard about ebay's FAQ feature.
How it works is that when a buyer asks you a question, they will be presented with a list of FAQ that you have created to suit your own items and terms of sale. You can also choose to have it include specific item details that you preloaded when you listed the item, or even include the questions and answers that you have already answered for that item.
This means that before the buyer taps out their question to you, they are presented with a whole range of answers, which unless they have a very specific or unusual question, they will not need to email you after all. This not only frees you from the repetitive questions from buyers who don't read your listing in full before they email you, but it also increases buyer satisfaction as they don't have to wait around waiting for your reply.
The FAQ feature is available to anyone who sells on eBay and can be found by logging into your "myebay" and going to your "Preferences" section which can be found on the left hand side under the "My account" section.
Scroll down to the Seller Preferences section and you will see "Ask a seller a question", click on the "show" link to the right of this and then click "edit". Will you see some options on what can be included, tick any of the options that appeal to you.
Next you will see the section to add your own FAQ and of course the answers. Include the sorts of questions that you find you are spending the most time answering. Some examples are including shipping terms and prices, if you sell internationally, what sorts of returns you offer, how long buyers can expect to wait for their item, if you offer a pick up service or not.
Obviously you are not limited to these sorts of questions, the sky's the limit. Remember though to always word your answers in a polite and helpful way, as buyer can tell if you are being condescending or sarcastic (it does happen!).
Once it is done, all you have to do is work out how you are going to spend all of that extra time :)
